You’ve heard of HijackThis, haven’t you? It scans your registry and other areas that host potential malware in your computer and lists them together so that you can remove the entries that you consider unwanted/malware.

FreeFixer does almost the same thing. It scans browser objects, registry keys etc. and displays the results for you to see. You can remove settings or keys which you consider unneeded. FreeFixer is pretty fast and stable when I tried it.

The big difference between HijackThis and FreeFixer is that in the latter, legitimate settings or entries are labelled green plus the interface is better. In addition, clicking on a particular entry takes you to a FreeFixer web page where you can learn more about it. The database isn’t huge though, but it could grow soon.
