Download gAlwaysIdle to make your GTalk Status Always Idle
Back when Gmail Chat hadn’t introduced the Invisible mode, there was no way you could remain invisible from your Gtalk friends when logged in. I was using a program called gAlwaysIdle then, and when I’m just busy I just use it to change my status to ‘Idle’ on Google Talk.
The Invisible mode doesn’t work when you’re using both Google Talk and Gmail chat simultaneously. That’s when gAlwaysIdle could home handy.

I uninstalled gAlwaysIdle for some reason and now when I needed it back, I typed in their website address only to find that the gAlwaysIdle website is down. I think the creator has abandoned the project (although I’m not too sure).I found a lot of people voicing their disappointment over the fact that they can no longer download and use that program to keep their GTalk status idle.
Thankfully, I looked around in my hard disk and had a copy of the gAlwaysIdle program! I’m just putting it up online over here so that anyone who needs it can download it. I’ll take it down if the creator doesn’t want me to host it.
You can use this link to download a .ZIP file that contains two files: gidle.dll and gidle.exe. To make your GTalk status idle, just launch the gidle.exe program and right click on the Google Talk icon in your system tray and choose the Always Idle option.

hey i dont find galwaysidle in add/remove programs.i dunno how to uninstall it.In temp files i found the exe file of it which when deleted shows write protected or close the applications.pls help me.thanks in advance

i able to install in win7. right click on the installation file and select properties. click on compatibility tab. on compatibility mode section, check ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for : ‘ and select Windows XP (service Pack 2). in privilege level section check ‘run this program as an administrator’. than press ok. then install galwasidle.

It really works great in windows 7 as “DNamZ” said.
Login as a administrator then right click Setup file click troubleshoot compatibility, in the next window choose Trouble shoot programs, next window choose first option program works in earlier version, next window choose any one Operating system from the list,next window
click the button “start the program” it will start installing. thats it

gAlwaysIdle is a piece of crap!!! It has never worked and the moron that created it doesn’t update it or maintain it’s web site. Save yourself hours of frustration and possibly embarrassment and don’t download this shitty software. Better yet, get rid of gTalk, maybe big brother Google will get the message if enough people leave.

I’m running this on winXP SP3.
Sometimes when I select “always idle” nothing happens. Half time it works, half time it doesn’t. I quit google talk, relanuch, and it works once or twice, and then nothing. Any ideas anyone?

extract the .zip file and everytime you need to be always idle just double click on the .exe file.
works on windows 7 32bit ( that’s what i’ve tried )
