Free Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 Six Months Trial Key
ADVERTISEMENTSI’ve been an advocate of Avast antivirus for long, but I’ve read tons of positive reviews about Kaspersky Antivirus software and have always wanted to try it. The Kaspersky team today released Kaspersky Antivirus and Kaspersky Internet Security 2009, both of which have been improved substantially.
Kaspersky Antivirus costs around $39.95 and Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 costs $59.95 but courtesy Kaspersky Switzerland, you can use the following license key to extend the trial period of Kaspersky Internet Security to up to six months.

Use this Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 activation key in the Application form that comes up during installation, not after the 30 day trial period has been activated. Once you’re done, you can use the Kaspersky trial version for six months.
Update: This activation key has expired. Here’s another way to get a 100 day trial key from Kaspersky for free.

Well, I’m still using Avast Home Edition. But I’ve read good reviews about Kaspersky. Its worth giving a try, I guess.

I dont think CypherHackz is providing that key. He just grabbed it from Kaspersky itself (Kaspersky is actually providing it for UBS, Switzerland).Here is the actual link.
Anyway, every almost every vendor is giving away extended trial keys. Today I clubbed together all the free av offers in my blogpost.

@Ruchir: Well, I’ve tried Norton quite a few times, but I’d never recommend using it. It slows down your system.

Gave this a try, after reading your eval/recommendation. Am running XP Pro with Service pack 3 installed. Took a LONG time for it to download the ‘updates’, and do a ‘Full Scan’ (though I expected scan to take a long time, as over 1.2 terra-bytes to scan). Program kept asking me about ‘legitimate’ programs accessing the internet (almost drove me buggy), and identified (as Virus, Trojan, etc.) many files that I know are NOT.
NOW… After this, I decided to ‘uninstall’ Kaspersky Suite. It seemed to be doing uninstall, then ‘nothing’. I left system alone for over 5 minutes (just in case it WAS doing something). Still nothing. Guess what… system was now ‘non-functional’. LOCKED UP!!!! Still don’t know if it’s all gone or not.
Hope this doesn’t happen to everyone who give this a try (especially if it’s based on your recommendation). This is FIRST time I’ve ever had any trouble with software you recommended. (Not the norm from your newsletter.)
Just wanted to pass along what happened. Don’t know if having Service Pack 3 installed may have caused this to happen, or what.

Your Blog is pretty amazing.
As on 10th JUNE 08, Kaspersky has blacklisted all pirated version keys and free keys. So this wont work. Its the best antivirus no doubt, but right now no keys are available for free. I am suffering too..
Those you do try to install are getting horrifying experiences such as one mentioned above.

It is a known fact that Kaspersky(R) and other antivirus software as do many software programs, just do not get along with an update contained by the “Service Pack 3(C)”, but it will soon be corrected by Microsoft(R).

I have been using Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 for quite awhile! The scans are a little slow but it has a comprehensive firewall and a great detection rating. I’m a little excited to see how the 09 version will pan out.
