How to download Flickr Videos?

Flickr recently allowed pro users to upload videos to their site. Videos are normally of good quality on Flickr, and you might want to download and save them to your local hard disk. If you want to download videos from Flickr, you could try the following methods:

First, install Orbit Downloader by getting it from here. Start Orbit Downloader.

Then, go to the page where the Flickr Video is located. You’ll see a Grab button on top of the video like you see in the following screenshot:

Click on the Grab button above the Flickr video.

A new window titled ‘Grab++’ will open. If Orbit Downloader requests you to refresh the page, do so by pressing the F5 key.

Return to the Grab++ Window and click on the video file to download it. If there are too many files listed, the one that contains a number followed by .flv (like 209.73.191.93.flv) is that Flickr video that you need to download (Please note that this is just an example. In your case, it might be a different number).

Click ‘Download’ in the Grab++ window to download the Flickr Video.

Note that all Flickr videos have the extension .FLV. You need an .FLV player to play the downloaded Flickr video.

  9. I generally use Naviscope or Safari’s Activity monitor to get the url and copy paste it to my download manager. This method works on almost all websites.
