How to restore missing USBscan.sys in Windows XP?
Recently, I was trying to install drivers for my new digital camera, but I had a few problems. The installer requested the Windows XP SP 2 CD because a driver file, usbscan.sys was missing. I had actually lost the XP SP2 CD. The installer requested the XP SP 2 CD repeatedly that I had to do something, else the installation would fail.

Nautilus Tip: Quickly Open Special Locations
Nautilus, the default File Manager in most Gnome Desktops, is a very versatile and feature rich program that does its job pretty well.
Did you know that you can instantly open special locations in Nautilus by typing in some special URIs?
For instance, in order to open the Writable CD Folder, type in burn:/// in the location bar. You’ll see the inbuilt CD app opening up, like this:

Similarly, the following special location URIs could come handy to you. Try them, here you go:
computer:///
Shows Computer, lists the disk partitions
network:///
Shows the network locations
fonts:///
Lists the fonts installed on the system
burn:///
Opens the CD Writing Window.
themes:///
Lists the themes available for the Gnome Desktop
system-settings:///
Gives access to system settings.

Gnome Do Application Launcher
Gnome Do is an application launcher for the Gnome Desktop that works quite well. In addition to being an application launcher, Gnome Do is capable of performing many other actions including quick online searching, quick music access, etc. I managed to install and try it on my Ubuntu Gutsy Desktop, and wanted to introduce it to Killer Tech Tips readers.
