iTunes doesn’t open after installing FlyakiteOSX?

FlyakiteOSX is one of the best transformation packs available for Windows XP. I installed FlyakiteOSX a few days ago on my PC. The installation went smooth, and there weren’t any errors reported.
iTunes didn’t open the next day. When I launched it, I happened to get this error:
“The procedure entry point OpenServiceW could not be located in the dynamic link library MPlugin.dll”
I hunted and found the solution. Here’s a little write up that you might find useful if you happen to get the error, and iTunes doesn’t open.
FlyakiteOSX installer includes, along with system tweaks, a few skins and tweaks for other applications. Here in this case, FlyakiteOSX packs in a GUI mod for iTunes called ‘iTunes Multi-Plugin’. This is the cause for iTunes not opening up.
Here’s how you can solve it:
- Run the FlyakiteOSX setup file
- Click ‘Next’, accept the terms, and then click ‘Uninstall Components’
- Click ‘Next’ and under ‘Software’, check ‘iTunes Multi-Pugin’
- Click ‘Uninstall’ and you’re done
- Fire up iTunes, and then it should open normally

So that’s it, the next time you’re installing FlyakiteOSX on another computer, make sure that you don’t install the plugin.

I had flyakite for a while, but in the end it refused to open a lot of my programs and ended up removing it….like even start>run>calc did not work!
it was a nice looking theme though.

@TheAnand: Yeah, these packs are good, but they create problems nonetheless.
